Imagine walking into any guitar pickup dealer, custom ordering your dream pickup and paying 3 times what you'd pay for a stock pickup. At SHGP "Your Custom Shop" that won't happen. This is the place where you can add your own twist to a pickup design, change magnets, request different bobbins, # of winds, colors...whatever, and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. Add an instant mod to your order and save time customizing

Real Classic Coils option- Imagine how uncovered 1959 PAF's looked when they were 10 years old, had gotten some wear, then were un-installed. Combine our Classic Coils tone with the look of a slightly used 59 PAF, and you have Real Classic Coils. Butyrate bobbins, lightly aged pole pieces and baseplate.

This option can be applied to any existing humbucker order, including Boosted Classic, M-Tones, and Limited Editions. If you want the unpolished nickel cover, just order the pickup with a cover and include a note w/payment that you want the unpolished cover instead.

$15 per humbucker (add this cosmetic option to any existing humbucker order. Note- cannot be used with F/T spaced humbuckers, or white bobbins. Double black and zebra only, standard spacing)



Gray bottom and plain enamel wire Strat set upgrade (mid-1960's Fender). With this option we build your Strat set with the gray bottoms and the darker coated plain enamel wire (opposed to Formvar).
$30 (add to an existing order of 3 pickups)

We can also build Mustang style pickups (contact us to custom order).
Callaham Strat pickup baseplate. This option is suggested for Stratocaster bridge pickups to fatten up and add body to your tone. We install it on your existing order of any set or single pickup.
$10 per pickup (add to an existing order, not sold seperately)







Aged/unpolished nickel tele neck cover. $5 (add to an existing order)



Relic/Age any humbucker or single coil. We can distress your pickup(s) so they don't look squeaky clean and new and match your beat up Les Paul or Strat. See our photo gallery for examples. $10 per pickup

Double row of screw polepieces for your humbucker, ala Gibson Dirty Fingers. This mod gives the pickup a focused magnetic field from both coils, adding to a tighter attack. $10 per pickup


Double row of slug polepieces for your humbucker. Having more mass, slugs give the magnet field a wider spead and a fatter tone with a touch more volume. $10 per pickup


Add a tap/coil split wire to your single coil pickup. We can hot wind (up to 10k) your Strat or Tele pickup with 43 awg wire and split it half way through for some switchable output options. Please indicate which pickup you want this mod applied to when purchasing a set. $15 per pickup


 

Add a tap/coil split wire to your humbucker with vintage style pushback lead. You can keep the look of a vintage lead and have tappable access to split the coils. $5 per pickup

Alnico 8 magnet substitute for any humbucker pickup. Wanna heat up our standard models? Add output and an in your face tone to any pickup. $5 (replaces the current magnet and is installed before shipping. Not sold separately)


 

Triple ceramic magnet option. 3 ceramic magnets add to output and overall pickup saturation. Another way to "heat up" your humbucker and crunch your preamp section. $10 per pickup


Copper shielding tape? Used if you want extra ground shielding for our humbuckers. We wrap both coils and solder to the baseplate. $10 per pickup


Deep potting. When purchasing humbuckers with covers, we can completely seal the pickup in wax inside that cover. This process takes the standard wax potting to a higher degree in keeping the pickup from squealing in high gain settings.

With multiple options or pickups added to your order, please indicate in the payment "comments" box where you would like each mod applied, along with any other important information you need us to know. If you want the same mod is applied to 2 pickups, just change the quantity to 2 while checking out. All orders have a 2 week or less turnaround time, even custom orders. That is fast......
